  • Mastering the Process of Lead Generation

    Partner 12:00 am on July 31, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Lead generation is the best way to open opportunities and mine for information in multi-level marketing or network marketing. Lead generation is a selective process because MLM is not for everyone. You as owner, will need to uncover and determine which individuals to target and work with.

    What it entails

Lead generation is a time consuming process and in some cases, quite costly. You will need to make a lot of phone calls, follow-ups, meetings, presentations, emails and even pay for advertising campaigns to promote your products or services to prospective customers or recruits.

Working to pump up your lead requires that you have patience, self-confidence, initiative and an undaunted spirit. MLM is not for the weak of heart and if you think you have what it takes, then this just might be the break that you need.

    How to start

First, look at the demographics to target the right prospects. It is important that you consider the right kind of people to sell your products to, so you don’t waste time and effort.

The best way to do this is to look at the quality of your product and ask yourself, Who will need it best? Who will buy it at this price? Who can sell it more convincingly? What kind of individuals buy a competing product and why? MLM lead generation is only successful if you can target and convince the right people.

    Keep a list

In MLM, it is imperative that you keep a record of who you deal with. Take notes about your sources and narrow your list then, qualify your leads. Once you have met with these people, you will be able to sense if they are interested and willing to work with you.

Start with your nearest and dearest

Begin coverage in the area nearest you, your family, friends, acquaintances and colleagues. These are the best places to start generating leads because with these individuals, you have the highest comfort factor with. You are less likely to be nervous or apprehensive with people you know or are familiar with, compared to complete strangers.

It is only when this resource is completely exhausted that you should begin to look for new candidates to recruit into your network.

    Turn to lead batching

Also called distributor gathering, this process involves gathering leads through advertising. You can be sure that those who respond to your advertising campaign are those who are interested in your product. Otherwise, they would not have attended your training in the first place.

Through lead batching, you can then invite your recruits to build their networks. As the owner, you can now strengthen the number and quality of recruits who work under you.

    Don’t burn bridges

Not every person who declines your offer is a dead end. Use that person’s contacts to get leads. There’s a huge chance that that person has family members or friends who could be interested in your product. You’ll never know if you try, so don’t be shy about asking.

Plant only where it will grow

Time is money and it is true with MLM, so you need to spend it well. Just because you see a potential in one person doesn’t mean you should try to turn him around even when he himself is not in the least bit interested. He could be the best salesman in the country, but if he doesn’t believe in your product, you’ll only be wasting your time and effort on an individual who will do nothing to help your business.

MLM lead generation is a process. It is not quick, there are no short cuts and it does take time. But if you’re armed with the proper methods of lead generation and if you perform correctly, you can expect good leads that can actually participate to help you grow your business better.

  • How Can You Improve Your Social Skills?

    Partner 12:00 am on July 30, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

One common suggestion that is recommended for improving social skills is to practice. Practice meeting other people, going to social events, joining clubs, taking classes or practice being with different people in various situations.

    But practice what?

Practice being in a crowded room and standing by yourself in the corner?

    Practice feeling awkward?

    Practice being nervous around others?

Practice walking up to a group of people with absolutely no idea of what to say?

If that’s what I had to “practice” every time I went out, I doubt I’d be going anywhere anytime soon. Being told to practice without any ideas or techniques on what to do is like being handed a sheet of paper and a pen and told to write out a story without first learning how to spell.

Going out, being with a bunch of people, going to social events – these are the places to practice. Knowing how to interact while you’re there is what to practice.

This really hit me when I was having dinner with a friend a few weeks ago and she was talking about an upcoming conference she was planning on attending. She could already feel the butterflies flitting about her stomach at the thought of entering the conference hall, yet she desperately wanted to network and meet influential people in her industry.

She kept asking, “What should I say?” and “What should I do?” It wouldn’t have been much help to tell her to “go out and practice” her social skills at a few less significant events in the days between our dinner and the conference. Sure, it would have been another good step as part of the process, but certainly not the first and only one. Instead, we covered various techniques and did some role playing so she’d understand how easy it really is to interact with others – when you have an idea of what to do.

Most often, social skills were learned naturally and subtly while we were growing up and were basically unnoticed in our day-to-day lives. However, there are a lot of us who weren’t taught social skills, aside from saying “please,” “thank you” and remembering to keep our elbows off the table during dinner.

Social skills are just that – skills. Skills have to be learned somehow, be they writing skills, swimming skills, driving skills, language skills or {fill in the blank}. You name the skill and chances are that it’ll have to be learned.

Practice breaking away from your comfort zone and being with other people is the implementation step of learning good social skills. The first step is to find out what are the skills to practice so you’re more likely to be successful in social situations.

  • Training Strategies For The Best Learning Outcomes

    Partner 12:00 am on July 26, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

New members of your downline will look to you for training and advice or assistance to help them get established in the business. They will be keen to succeed and highly motivated to learn. Here are some important tips to help you be effective in training your distributors.

The effectiveness of training sessions depends largely on the trainer. A trainer who simply stands in front of the group and delivers information without interacting with the students will not teach as well as someone who gets involved. To become a top notch trainer you will need to:

    1. Create Rapport

Before the training session starts, mingle with the participants and get to know them.

By meeting attendees ahead of time and chatting with as many of them as possible, you will have broken the ice before the session begins. This will create an immediate warmth between you and your audience when you begin to train them.

Avoid sensitive topics in this “getting to know you” phase, as you are trying to build rapport, not get into an argument. Stick to topics like good restaurants in the area, or traffic on the way to the venue.

    2. Give More Than Expected.

If you deliver only content that is expected, you are really not giving value for money.

Make an effort to provide a more valuable and interesting experience than participants expect. Do extra research or locate additional resources that help people gain more from the experience.

You can share your own, or other people’s stories and perhaps even get the attendees themselves to share personal experiences that are relevant. You will find that you can also learn a lot by involving your audience.

Make the learning as interactive as possible. In other words, get the trainees as involved as possible. The easiest way to get their cooperation is to make the whole process fun. If you create a friendly, safe environment in which people feel comfortable getting involved, you will find people much more willing to interact.

It is also important to keep learning yourself. You can improve your training skills by attending seminars for trainers.

    3. Use a Variety of Training Methods

It is important to move between different training techniques in order to keep trainees interested. Standing in front of people and lecturing them with straight information is likely to cause them to lose interest and stop paying attention because it is so boring.

Instead, use a number of training techniques that encourage interaction and move the learning forward quickly. It is important that training has a practical purpose and active learning is the best way to achieve it.

It isn’t hard to make your training sessions interesting. Here are some strategies you can use:

    - role play
    - group discussion
    - case studies
    - trainee presentations
    - telling stories
    - short quizzes
    - fun games

Presentation aids such as Power Point presentations, video clips, audio, flip charts, posters and other training props can help convey information and keep the audience’s attention.

Adjust your approach depending on the time of day. For example, during the afternoon when people may begin to get tired, keep them alert with interactive strategies.

    4. Use the Right Amount of Variety

The aim of training sessions is to give attendees the ability to actually do what they are being trained to do. This means that it is very important to reinforce learning throughout the session. A good rule of thumb is to provide three different activities for each specific topic so that learning can be reinforced.

One way you can do this is to introduce a case study with a video clip that gives a detailed view of the subject. You can then divide the participants into small groups to discuss the information and come up with some solutions to a problem. Afterwards, the groups can designate someone to present their information to other attendees.

Learning retention is significantly greater when you include group activities and multi-sensory training techniques.

    5. Keep Them Interested With Surprises.

There should be no surprises for the trainer of course, because the training session should be very well planned.

However, the participants are another thing altogether. A good trainer plans to surprise the trainees.

You can surprise them by using a range of different and interesting training strategies. Participants may be aware of the course content but find the techniques new and interesting.

You can also use rewards to motivate them. Small rewards like chocolate bars, pens or notebooks can be enough of an incentive to get people involved. When you divide participants into teams during the session, you can award points to teams. This is a great way to get people excited and involved.

    6. Train to The Objectives.

It is easy to get off track when you create an interactive learning environment, so it is essential that you have planned the course carefully. What are the learning objectives of the training? What topics must be covered in each session?

It is important to constantly reiterate these objectives during the course so that it stays on track.

It is common for groups to want to spend more time on topics that interest them but if you do that you will find there is insufficient time to cover the other topics in the course.

Next time you need to run a training session, apply these training strategies for the best learning outcomes. Keep in mind the rule of three as you plan and deliver the training: repetition, recall and retention.

  • Why Small Businesses Can Benefit From A Payroll Software Package

    Partner 12:00 am on July 26, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

While large organisations have the resources to devote full time members of staff to the functions of accounting and payroll administration, for smaller companies this is rarely the case. Normally in a small business the payroll functions are carried out by the managing director or owner meaning that they must devote a great deal of time to the functions when their efforts could be better spent courting new business and managing staff members.

Experts estimate that small businesses with around ten employees will have to spend around one hour a week conducting payroll functions such as calculating income tax and national insurance payments. An hour does not sound a great deal of time, but when added up over the working year it is a considerable amount. This is where having a software package that carries out payroll functions can be ultimately useful. Software not only frees up the time spent on accounting but also helps to increase the efficiency of the business and improve the accuracy of the payroll calculations.

With a poor system for accounting functions it is easy or staff members to become dissatisfied with the company as a whole. Staff members naturally expect their pay on time and in full. The production of payslips is a fundamental part of this so that staff members can keep accurate financial records. Legislation also demands that each employee receives their payslips and a yearly P60 from detailing their annual earnings. Payroll software can help companies to automate the process of producing payslips whilst also providing a readily accessible database of all pay information over the working year.

Payroll software ensures that a business meets all relevant legislation concerned with the payment of employees. Not only is it an ongoing task but due to the fact legislation is constantly being improved, staying abreast of developments can be difficult. Most payroll software packages provide the provision of CD Rom update discs to ensure that legislative changes are taken account of easily and effectively. Having this kind of service means that the headache of keeping up with government reforms is negated and employers are safeguarded from legal action.

Ultimately payroll software can work towards standardising the way a company carries out its salary and wage information. It will calculate what money is due employees and provides a fast and accurate way of crosschecking pay information. Fundamentally the right package can help a business to streamline its functions subsequently making the process more efficient. While the option of outsourcing the task is a reality, many prefer to keep pay information in-house as a more viable alternative. By having your own system a business’ finances are more flexible and adaptable to change, whether this is expansion or a change in salaries, the correct software can help cope with unforeseen events.

Not all software packages are the same however; there is a large amount of variance in the quality across the market. The more expensive packages are usually better equipped to cope with changes and are essentially more flexible. For the business manager, choosing the cheapest package is rarely the most advisable course of action to follow. A package must be able to cope with change and must be flexible to a business’ needs. The correct payroll software can make running a business much easier reducing the amount of time and effort spent on administrative functions. For this reason small businesses should strongly consider the worth of purchasing a well equipped and designed package.

Business expert Thomas Pretty looks into how the correct payroll software package can improve the administrative efficiency of a business.

  • Important Info About Internet MLM

    Partner 12:00 am on July 26, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

MLM is a billion dollar industry. People have built empires out of this business and in the process, even provided their recruits and employees a chance to improve their lives and status. It’s no wonder that despite negative feedbacks about MLM, people continue to use it as a means to reach a wider audience for their products.

One of the ways to expand an MLM business is to promote it online. Internet MLM is not limited by geographics and time zones. When functioning properly, internet MLM can provide better income and opportunities to a wider group of people anywhere in the world.

    Is it legal?

By itself, internet MLM is a legitimate way to sell products and services and earn commissions. Its legality has only been questioned after companies and individuals claiming to be legit MLMs began promoting illegal or non-existent products and services with the sole purpose of scamming people. It has also been mistakenly associated with pyramiding, which is illegal.

The single most essential way to determine whether an internet MLM venture is legal is to find out if the business has an actual product to sell. If it doesn’t, then you’re better off looking someplace else. What’s the point of going into business when you have nothing to sell?

    Your bottom line.

No, it’s not just the profit, although this is the reason you went into business initially. Your focus is on expanding your base because this is the foundation of every successful MLM business. If you have a solid base of recruits, you are then assured of an internet MLM business that is profitable and capable of expanding. To do this, you will need to generate leads.

    Generating leads

When people tell you that the money is in the list, they probably mean in your list of leads. These are the people you have recruited who can help you grow your business. Remember that your internet MLM business is only as good as the people who run it and you don’t want bad eggs in the basket now, not ever.

One of the more obvious ways to generate leads is to recruit whom you know or those with the most proximity to your business. This can include your family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances.

Another way to generate leads for your MLM internet business is to use opt-in MLM leads. You partner with a lead generating company who can link you up with people who have already shown interest in an MLM business. These people have been pre-screened and profiled as potential recruits or customers so getting in touch with them will save you time and effort.

Lead generating companies offer their services for a fee. Their services include tips and marketing tools to help you with your venture, email services to potential customers and lists of opt-in MLM leads. Membership fees cost at least $30 per month, which gives you exclusive access to the list of leads.

    Find a mentor

Of the many internet MLM businesses to choose from, go to one that offers mentoring. If you look at some of the best MLM businesses, you’ll find that these include the mentor structure to successfully grow their venture. A mentor will guide you in the ins and outs of the business and can help you map your road to success.

  • Adding Alternative Home Care Products to Your Therapeutic Lines

    Partner 12:00 am on July 26, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

When practicing in therapeutics, many homeopaths, nutritionists, and holistic therapists aim to provide the best experience for their clients through the addition of alternative home care products to their therapeutic lines. These retail products can be used to support the given therapies to complete the regime of well being care. If you aren’t currently stocking alternative therapy retail products now might be time to consider how beneficial it can be for both your clients as well as the bottom line!

With the media frenzy in the world today, CDs, DVDs, eBooks and audio books in MP3 format are all fantastic possibilities as alternative therapy retail products choices. Facial creams and shampoos needn’t be the only option for adding to your sales. Through audio and video care, the therapy given to a patient or client can extend far beyond the office setting. Collaborative care has been shown to be the best choice for patients in a therapeutic setting and these medias will help to create a combination setting for the best possible end results.

Aromatherapy is yet another alternative to the traditional facial products most therapists stock. Selling holistic therapy products such as scented oils, candles, and home and body sprays can help to ease tension and stress.

By the way… if this isn’t something you are familiar with, aromatherapy is the art of using the 90 essential oils as a part of calming therapies. These 90 essential oils are not the same as the fragrant oils sold on the market today, so marketing a true essential oil will require a bit of research before applying the name “aromatherapy” to your product! Once again, knowing your product is essential.

Another idea to think about is products books and printed supplements… When a therapist combines verbal therapy with printed therapy it gives the patient or client the opportunity to continue therapy at their own pace after leaving the office or practice. This form of self controlled therapy when combined with in person therapy can reap large rewards for the patient.

The books chosen can be written either by yourself or by others in the same field of care. When choosing the books to offer to your patients, it is best to choose an author that feels the same way about holistic and alternative therapies as you feel. This will boost the patient along the paths you are setting as a care giver.

The key to marketing alternative home care products is to think of angles to complete your current therapeutic choices with your patients and clients. Whole forms of therapy are idealistic in that they provide continuous support for the patient or client at a self guided pace. Books, eBooks, audio books, essential oils, candles, nutritional supplements, home sprays and body sprays are just a few of the alternative home care products available to supplement your current patient offerings.

Have a think about what you can be offering your clients that will both add to the results they see after their appointment with you and that will also benefit your business financially. There are literally hundreds of options. The key to success is to ensure it’s a win-win scenario. For the highest sales whatever you stock needs to be of benefit to your clients as well as being something that you are enthusiastic about and that will add profit to your bottom line.

  • Three Important Aspects Of Multilevel Marketing

    Partner 12:00 am on July 25, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Multilevel marketing is making big waves! Recently, it has become an $80 billion business and is still booming fast. With over thirty million multilevel marketing distributors worldwide, many companies are turning to multilevel marketing schemes to pump up their sales and lower down distribution costs.

Network marketing is somewhat similar to franchising. Dubbed as The People’s Franchise, network marketing offers the right to do business by using a company’s name and access to proven and duplicable system of doing business for very inexpensive joining fees. In seeking a feasible and sustainable network marketing system, a person interested in joining multilevel marketing should take note of three basic components that must simultaneously exist in a multilevel marketing organization.

First, quality of product value must exist. Quality of product value is the ability of the products offered to satisfy particular customer needs and wants taking into consideration the price of the products. The quality of the product value should be carefully evaluated by potential distributors because sales and therefore commission payouts are largely dependent on this factor.

Given a right product value, the products could be easily sold by distributors. Hence, the distributors targeted income level can be easily achieved. Satisfied distributors mean lower fall out rate for new recruits.

Quality of product value is different from product quality because the latter does not take into account the prices of the products. High quality products are great; but if sold at high prices, less and less people might be interested in actually buying the products. On the other hand, customers can also be turned off by affordable product prices that come with faltering product quality.

Quality of product value is necessary to assure business sustainability. A defective product value affects the business relationships between the independent distributors, final customers, and the company as a whole. Reputations, both of the multilevel company and its distributors, are at stake when they offer substandard products.

Second, the quality of company must be unquestionable. Quality of company pertains to the ability and dedication of a multilevel marketing company to stay and grow in the marketplace both in promising and depressing times. The quality of the multilevel company encompasses the administrative management and customer service aspects of the company.

The quality of company also touches on the quality of compensation plan that the multilevel company employs. The financial payout system influences the performance of existing and potential distributors in selling the products.

A compensation plan that is easily achieved can mean a large pool of distributors but low quality of prospects. An overly easy payout method can eat into company profits by way of larger commissions. A company could also decide to sell products at higher prices to accommodate larger commission payouts. A difficult compensation system on the other hand can turn off potential distributors and defeat the very reason the company has implemented a multilevel marketing system in the first place.

Third, quality of distributors must be present. The quality of distributors takes into consideration the skills and attitudes of the people who will be involved in marketing and retailing of the company’s products.

Prospecting is very important in multilevel marketing. Prospecting is involved in finding both long-term buyers of the products and individuals who can and will grow the business by sponsoring new recruits and marketing the business as well.

By observing these three areas in multilevel marketing, a distributor can have an increased chance of success.

  • Significance of MLM Marketing

    Partner 12:00 am on July 25, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Multi Level Marketing has become a multi billion industry that has managed to snare people from all walks of life. Those who engage in Multi Level Marketing have diverse backgrounds but all of them have one thing in common: the desire to earn more using the least capital possible.

While there is no doubt to the popularity of Multi Level Marketing, doubts should be cast on the way most people view this kind of business. Some people look at Multi Level Marketing as get rich scams. Some of them consider this as a deceitful way of earning money by using other people.

There are a lot of misconceptions about Multi Level Marketing and one of those is the stigma of MLM business as a pyramid scam. People could not however be faulted for attaching this stigma to Multi Level Marketing because most of those who engage in Multi Level Marketing are ill informed and most often use this business scheme in another way.

Multi Level Marketing is really a valid way of doing business which takes advantage of the circle of acquaintances that a person has. In Multi Level Marketing, a person is able to purchase products or services at a lower cost. He gets income by selling these products and by recruiting other people who will also sell the same products.

It becomes multi level because the original purchaser now develops a series of sales network referred to as his downline. When these people are able to sell products and services, the original purchaser gets a commission out of their sales as well.

What makes the business of Multi Level Marketing kind of shady is when the upline or the original purchase gets commission just by recruiting his downlines and no goods or services are being sold or moved. This is not even marketing because no products are being marketed so it is really erroneous to relate this to Multi Level Marketing.

With this in mind, it should be noted that Multi Level Marketing is actually different from the pyramid scheme although most people still associate the two. A person engage in Multi Level marketing in reality purchases the products at a lower price because they are bought on a wholesale basis.

To get more income, the original purchaser has an option to sell his products on a retail basis. He then recruits people to do the selling for him and he gets a commission out of their sales. If such products are not sold, then no one gets an income

What is good about Multi Level marketing is that you can transfer and do business from one area to another without losing the commissions you have earned from a sales network that has been established in a certain area. A person who is able to build a good sales network who will move the products for him will get the most income.

It is thus important that a person who is into Multi Level Marketing would be able to get good people on his team so he will have quality downlines who can also build their own quality teams. The secret really is in marketing the products not to strangers but to family, friends and colleagues.

  • What Kind of Home Based Business Might an Entrepreneur Recommend?

    Partner 12:00 am on July 25, 2008 | 0 Permalink | Reply

Let’s say I’ve had it with the day job. My debt is beyond belief. I have no time to spend with my kids or family. I’ve read the Rich Dad Poor Dad book and decided that I no longer want to trade time for money but I have no idea on how to get started in my own home based business or how to become an entrepreneur. What do I do?

Well there are successful businesses available to people who want to build wealth that are already set up , running and making huge profits. And the beauty is they are looking for people to partner with and are willing to help them develop their business. These businesses help other achieve their goals, so if you’d be the type of person that would be willing to help other achieve their goals too, this could be right for you.

How easy would it be to start one of these? Most of these companies have a very low entry cost, from $30 – $200 and a low monthly participation cost, about $150 – $300 per month that could be earned back within a few weeks or months. Income potential is unlimited and you have to work at it to get there. But the amount of work that you put in over time compared to the amount of reward possible is so different that this type of business would be considered truly leveraged.

These types of business take advantage of current trends like distribution, baby boomers, the health care and wellness industry, plus the shift from the industrial age to the information age driven by the internet. This is the perfect storm of entrepreneurship. Millions of dollars are waiting to be made, now and in the next several years.

Read The Next Millionaires by Paul Zane Pilzer or Rich Dad’s Business School for People Who Like Helping People. These books are great resources for the kind of business I’m about to tell you about.

What is it? It is direct sales or network marketing. “Oh my gosh,” you say. “I can’t sell anything.” Neither can I but I can learn what it takes to become a millionaire real fast. One of the first things that come to mind when the words network marketing are mentioned is the old model of making a list with all your friends, family, acquaintances, people you see walking down the street, people you don’t even like and everyone that has an occupation that you can think of — then calling them. Yes. That is scary.

And besides scary, it’s not that productive. Where is it written that perfect strangers even care who you are let alone are interested in some whacky business or product you are trying to promote? This is not to say that you can avoid talking to people in network marketing, on the contrary. You want to talk to people and show them how easy it is, but you don’t want to talk it into people. You want people to come to you and ask to be shown.

How do you get people to come to you? It’s called attraction marketing and basically you become a desired force or expert and people want to learn from you. At that time they are open minded enough to listen and consider network marketing as a viable business opportunity for them. It takes time, but consider the alternative of working until you are 65 and retiring on half your salary.

There are over 1,600 network marketing companies around. Some are much better than others. Be careful because some of the companies will hold you hostage for six months with a non-compete clause which means you can’t legally join any other program or they can sue you. Do your research. Talk to people who are active in plans. Pick the best payout and then have the person who signs you up help you to achieve success. They will be happy to help because your success improves their success.
